Cuddles in Edinburgh

About a week ago I was in Glasgow, Scotland for the sole purpose of going onstage with Kevin Bridges in front of about ten thousand people for the recording of his new DVD "The Story Continues..." It was wild and I consider myself quite the lucky dog. It was so dope and I had such a fun time. Glasgow is such an awesome city and I hope that I can return soon and often. The recording for that was Saturday night and I also went onstage again in front of another ten thousand people on Sunday night. I wanted to take advantage of my time in the UK, and the fact that I had an excuse to get out of school for a week, so I stayed for the whole following week as well. I was to help out with the DVD for some things on the following Friday in Glasgow, but I didn't have much to do in between Sunday Night and Friday morning so I decided to explore the UK a little and I had the opportunity to go down to London for a few days. I was in London from Tuesday through Thursday, then I rode the all night sleeper train back to get back to Glasgow by Friday morning. London was awesome and many adventures were had, but the focus of today's story is from the city of Edinburgh, Scotland.

I spent Monday in Edinburgh and it was a wonderful city. The city looks like it's straight from a movie or dream of some sort. I was coming back from the castle that sits on a rocky outlook and while walking down the royal mile being mesmerized by the beauty of the city and buildings over the street performers playing their bagpipes I heard a ladies voice with a very strong thick Scottish accent say "Excuse me. But it's law here that anyone taller than me must give me cuddles." After I heard that I looked over and saw a girl standing there who was about six foot four inches tall and I stand about six foot five inches tall, so needless to say she was pretty tall and probably didn't encounter too many men taller than her. I starting smiling and looked around to see if she was talking to me and so she looked me in the eyes and said "Come give me cuddles." She opened up her arms and gave me the "Get over here and hug me" look so I went to her, spread my arms out, and gave her a big ol' bear hug. It was quite an awesome hug. She held it for a while then said, "It's been so long since I've been given cuddles by someone taller than me." Then we both smiled and went our separate ways. It was quite the moment and one that I'll never forget. I walked down the street for about another minute then just bust out laughing. It was so funny. I wish I could have recorded it so I could listen to her thick Scottish accent say "cuddles" again. Anyways, I guess the moral of the story is that sometimes you find yourself in a foreign country and when that happens it's very important to abide by the laws of the land. Especially if the law has anything to do with giving cuddles.

Summer 2012

It's now September and I'm deep into school, but my roommate is going to a concert tonight or tomorrow night and I was brought back to the concerts I went to in the summer and thought I should write about them.

I went to another Tech N9ne show and it ruled. This one was actually a little bit before Summer started, but it was great nonetheless and is worthy to be written about. The Hostile Takeover Tour. It was record breaking. 93 shows in 105 days or something crazy like that. I went alone again... but that kinda made it tight cause I met some girls there and we had a wild time. Mostly wild because they were way small so it was my duties to protect them from the mosh pits that engulfed us from time to time. Everytime I've been to a Tech concert it's been a different experience and no two concerts of his have been very much alike yet. Tech N9ne puts on such a sick show and I loved it. During his song "The Noose" he came out into the crowd and he grabbed my hand and held it for a large chunk of his verse while singing and it was awesome. It was an almost spiritual rap moment for me. MGK, Machine Gun Kelly, opened up for him and he did awesome. We all went crazy for Wild Boy and it was way fun jumping around during that song and his other ones. Also I went to an Iron Maiden concert with my brother. It was so tiiiggghhttt!!!! They rule and are one of my favorite bands of all time. I've been wanting to see them for a long time so I was pumped that I finally could. I got to see Eddie and everything. It ruled. So that means this year I've seen my favorite rapper in concert and favorite metal band in concert too. I just wish Garth Brooks or George Strait would come in concert now so I can see my favorite country artist too. In all actuality Garth Brooks was my first concert ever, but I was real little and not a big fan of his work yet so I feel like I need to see him again. I also went to a Rittz concert in a little bar in Salt Lake and it was ghetto, but awesome. I went on stage during an opening act and won a free t-shirt and 15 bucks by winning a rock, paper, scissors contest. I got to meet Rittz and I took a pic with him and it was pretty tight. He put on a good show.

Concerts rule and are such a fun time. I hope I can go to a lot more as time goes on. I didn't write anything to exciting to read, but it was a fun summer in terms of concerts and the such.

Math Crush is back

3 years ago I had a crush on a girl in my math class and then she moved home after the school year, but now she just barely moved back into town to finish school. I wrote this poem after I saw her for the first time 3 years ago.

Math Crush
I'm sitting all alone, Trying to stay awake
Then she comes in, Oh goodness sake
It's like an angel coming down, From the Heaven above
I've lost my breath, I think I'm in love
The teacher is up teaching, But I'm not hearing any words
My heart is beating, Like the wings of the birds
The only math I can think of, Are her lips plus mine
And us subtract the world, We'd be together for all time
Today could be the day, She comes and sits next to me
We are talking and laughing, How could this be
Could this be a dream, Or is it all real
What's going on, What is this I feel
I'm the happiest man in the world, My hearts turned to mush
All because of you, My Secret Math Crush

Party at Chad Hogan's

A month or two ago I was on tv on the BBC One in the UK. Shout out to Kevin Bridges.
